Sustainability Values

Nature is close to our hearts, and we're incredibly lucky to live and work in an area so rich with it. We believe it's becoming critical that every business regardless of size do their part in working toward more sustainable practices and that we as consumers have more information and transparency to make better choices.
As a small business, we've always been able to manage our waste and energy much more efficiently. No large factories here! We keep small amounts of stock, ordering only what we need to offer our small line of quality, hand-produced products, thus avoiding deadstock. We source our materials from reputable suppliers within the UK where possible, including Scottish and English mills for our tartan and tweed. We use UK packaging suppliers for our gift boxes and shipping materials who provide sustainable, plastic-free options that are recycled/recyclable. Usable fabric scraps that we produce are collected and given to a local reuse business or textile recycling facilities.
Switching to predominantly wool-based products has been a decision we couldn't be happier about. We are still learning so much about this incredible natural fibre. Did you know that it regulates temperature, is fire resistant, manages moisture, odour resistant (less washing!) hard wearing, breaks down naturally and it's regenerative? Sheep grow a new fleece every year. Win. Needless to say, we're hooked, and even though we're not completely there yet with our green journey, it's definitely a project in the right direction.
